Copy current year prices to next year / season
Vince Wooll
As we are just inserting the prices for 2020 I notice that it would be great to have a feature "Copy current year prices to next year" as many owners just leave the 2019 prices the same for 2020. This would simplify this work enormously.
Also it would be good if one could see the prices of the whole current year under "Settings" / "Tariffs" to have it more easy to see / keep track how the prices in the beginning of the year were when the prices for the next season are entered (which for us is normally in June as the flights for the next year are normally published by the airlines then).
Thank you very much for consideration.
Kind regards

Covid really did a number on everybody.
This is a feature request that I've had several times and I intend to add a plugin that will allow this.
I'm currently considering how this could/should be done. Once you have a lot of properties expecting a property manager to log into each property and copy all of their prices across to the next year would be something of a burden to them. I'm thinking that it would be better to do it automagically instead. Perhaps a scheduled task that looks at the latest date in a property's tariffs, notices that the tariff expires in N days/weeks/months and if it does then it takes the last year's tariffs and transposes them across to the next year.
The problem with that of course is that tariffs can be very date specific, because special holiday seasons will not translate from year to year for many properties. Some properties (i.e. SRPs) may not really be a problem, but for others it could create huge issues.
Let me know your thoughts, people.

Vince Wooll: allow checkbox to select what to copy. Ie. Copy room rates, copy tax/tariffs, copy extras, etc. For most American markets, taxes change once a year and at worse twice but taxes should be a separate field altogether. Also if copy room rates, it should be the same as “seasons and special events” generally stay at the same time each year.

Charlie Mason: Hi Charlie
Do you use the Time Limited feature of Extras much?

Vince Wooll: No, but there is opportunities where it would be used with alternate offers. Not for room (we’re not touching hourly here! ;-) ) but with experience, and extras; access to suntan rooms/machines, private access to steam room, access to boats, etc are time based. In the past, it wasn’t booked as “time” but slots; 30 min, 1 hour for tanning and 6 hour, 12 hour for boats. Which works fine! The question is, does the “hour” rates justify the server/db resources vs just having slots.
